TRAVEL TIPS TO Y'AMI ISLAND
The boat ride challenges one's bravery as the waters are treacherous and not for the faint of heart. Giant waves can become traumatic to some, not to mention occasional thunderstorms. NEVER dare to go during winter (November to March), as cold fronts bring unfavorable weather in the area. Plan a trip between April to July, while the last two weeks of May up to late June is the best time to go.

Spending a night in Mavulis (at least 5 hours away from Itbayat Island) is not recommended. A sudden shift in wind magnitude and direction could get you stranded in the island for days. Note that the island is uninhabited, there's no source of food and water.
Spending a night in Siayan (at least 1.5 hours away from Itbayat Island) is recommended only if the weather is favorable. Do constant checking of weather forecasts before you schedule your trip.

Siayan Island, like Mavulis, is also uninhabited. There are no cottages or any form of accommodation. You have to bring your own tent, sleeping bag, or anything which will aid you to sleep. A water tank used for bathing can be found at the western end of the island. There's no source of potable water.
Bring flashlights, insect repellent, sunscreen, FOOD AND DRINKS, umbrella, and loads of courage.
